ToneLogger

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14th, 2026

Overview

ToneLogger is a record-keeping tool that helps volunteer Fire and EMS departments log activities, track participation, and report on their work. This policy explains what information Legit Logic Labs, LLC ("ToneLogger," "we," "us") collects when you use the ToneLogger mobile app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

ToneLogger is not a 911 dispatch system, is not a medical device, and does not store patient health information. Do not enter protected health information (PHI) about patients into ToneLogger.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

  • Account information — your name and email address, used to create your account and sign you in. Sign-in is by one-time email link or by Apple/Google sign-in; we never store a password.
  • Department records you create — the activities, participation, apparatus, categories, dispatch details, and reports you and your department enter into the app.
  • Usage and diagnostic data — basic, aggregated information about how the app is used and crash/error reports, to keep the service reliable.
  • Notifications — if you turn on push notifications, a device push token so we can send alerts to your device (for example, when someone requests to join your department or an onboarding task is assigned to you). You can turn this off in the app or your device settings at any time.

We do not collect precise device location, payment card data, or patient health information, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

How we use information

  • To operate the service — authenticate you, store and display your department's records, and generate reports.
  • To maintain security and integrity — detect abuse, troubleshoot, and keep an audit trail of changes to records.
  • To communicate with you — sign-in codes, push notifications you've enabled, service notices, and support responses.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your department's records for advertising.

How information is shared

  • Within your department — records are visible to other members of your department according to their role (member, officer, or administrator).
  • Service providers— we use trusted vendors to run ToneLogger, including Supabase (database, file storage, and authentication) and Vercel (hosting), an email-delivery provider for sign-in codes, and — for push notifications you enable — Expo's push service and the Apple and Google push gateways (APNs/FCM). They process data only on our behalf.
  • Legal reasons — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of ToneLogger and its users.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Account settings) or by contacting us at info@legitlogiclabs.com. Deleting your account removes your sign-in identity. To preserve the integrity of a department's historical records, the activity entries associated with your past membership may be retained in de-identified form (no longer linked to your account). See Account & Data Deletion for step-by-step instructions.

Departments may also request export or deletion of their data by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level security so members only see data they are authorized to access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.

Children's privacy

ToneLogger is intended for use by adults (18+) acting on behalf of a Fire or EMS department. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@legitlogiclabs.com. ToneLogger is offered to departments located in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
